CACHE Productions was commissioned by The Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights and GTG Outddoors to tell the story of a lawsuit against the federal government, arguing that the ban will not prevent future mass shootings.
The lawsuit argues that creating more laws and making guns “more” illegal is not a solution, enforcing laws is. The regulation unfairly targets law abiding Canadian gun owners.
This lawsuit will be a conversation about public safety and about firearm ownership in Canada, a conversation that the use of the Order In Council (OIC) has denied the Canadian public. The lawsuit will establish precedent about property ownership in Canada for years to come. Since concerns have been raised, the government has doubled down. The RCMP Specialized Firearms Support Services has been allowed to ban thousands of pump action shotguns and standard .22 caliber bolt action rifles.
